Electronic Distribution List
Information Sharing using EDL
Electronic Distribution Lists (EDL) is one of the many ways in which people may choose to share information electronically on campus.
EDL is a simple to use, web based electronic mailing list application available to McMaster employees and MSU Clubs (with sponsorship by a permanent McMaster employee).
EDL list owners are responsible for opening lists to allow email to be delivered and closing lists so that email is rejected. This prevents spam being sent to list members. The lists are owned by the person who initiated the request for the list.
NOTE: List owners will require a MAC ID to use EDL - See Accessing EDL. List owners are solely responsible for the administration of their list and for overseeing the functioning of the list. List owners are also responsible for announcing the list and for problems encountered by members of their list. |
EDL does not provide for moderated and unmoderated lists or the ability for customers to subscribe and unsubscribe themselves. Customers who want this feature should use Mailman.
