The Great Hall

The historic Great Hall could easily be considered the Club’s most architecturally awe inspiring room.  From its soaring cathedral style oak ceiling, oak wall paneling, massive wood burning fireplace accented by the hand carved McMaster Crest, the back-lit molten glass window from the original McMaster family mansion in downtown Toronto, and the gothic inspired chandeliers, the Great Hall is widely considered the venue of choice on campus for reception events, buffet and served meals, all-day meetings, and theatre style presentations.

The Great Hall is used for a daily buffet-style luncheon service.  Freshly prepared chilled salad buffet, house-made pre-wrapped sandwiches, feature soup, Chef’s entrée and dessert selections are offered daily in this venue.  This buffet is a perfect choice for a quick luncheon with colleagues, a working team lunch, or taking food out as you make your way back to your office.

Social Table

During luncheon service, the Club has designated a “Social Table” in this area.  The intent of this table is to encourage conversation between Club members who may be dining alone or in small groups.  Members choosing to sit at the Social Table are encouraged to introduce themselves as people join the table.

Great Hall Service Interruptions

From time to time, the Great Hall may be reserved throughout the day to accommodate a private event.  During times when the Great Hall is closed for a private event, every attempt is made to provide a modified Great Hall style luncheon buffet service in the Club’s West Room.  Notice of pending closures can be found posted on the notice board, located just inside the Club’s main entrance.
