Mac in Your Town
While McMaster University may be located in Hamilton, Mac grads outside of the Hamilton area can still feel connected to the university through the numerous social, sporting, educational and community events organized in cities across Canada. These events provide a stimulating environment where grads can enjoy an interesting night out with McMaster. Depending on the event, guest lecturers can range from McMaster professors and researchers to community professionals. MAC Café
MAC Café is a forum for the discussion of important and interesting issues. They are informal and accessible - much more so than a public lecture.
Discover Psychology: Science You Can Use
In partnership with the Department of Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour, we have developed a unique and interesting lectures series for the McMaster community. Join us Friday afternoons in the fall term to learn tidbits of psychology that you can use in your own life. Can't make the talk in person? Stratford Shakespearean Festival
This July why not spend some of your time enjoying the genius of Shakespeare in scenic Stratford, Ontario. Every year since 1960, McMaster University has conducted a seminar for theatre and Shakespeare enthusiasts, in association with the Stratford Festival. Participants attend numerous productions, attend lectures and discussion sessions, learn about backstage and production activities, and have the opportunity to meet some of the Festival cast.
MAC Reads Alumni Book Club
Please join us for Mac Reads, McMaster Alumni Association's book club. This program is a great opportunity to read thought-provoking books, meet new people and learn from some of McMaster's most engaging professors, lecturers and authors!
Albert Lager Lecture Series
Our series of Hamilton-area educational lectures and events is named after McMaster graduate Albert Abrum Lager. Albert, a great believer in the value of life-long education, created the Albert Abrum Lager Foundation which supports several organizations in their efforts, including the McMaster Alumni Association.
Women's Personal and Professional Development Series
Your Life...Only Better: A Personal and Professional Development Series for Today's Woman
A series for our alumnae which emphasizes leadership, networking, and empowerment through interactive sessions moderated by industry and community experts. The sessions take place six times per year in Hamilton, and attendance is limited to provide a close and personal environment. This program is now also being offered in the GTA.
Alumni Professional Development Day
An annual event usually held the first Friday in May, our Professional Development Day is an opportunity for alumni and friends of McMaster to gather, connect and learn. The day features outstanding speakers from McMaster and the external community combined with an opportunity to network with guests from a variety of cities, faculties, grad years and professions.
