Fueling your home for less
Everyone would like to save money on their energy bill, but
consumers are sometimes at a loss at how to best manage their
fuel consumption.
Professor Barna Szabados will take a look at Ontario's current
energy situation by discussing the new deregulated marketplace
and how consumers can be less greedy about power.
He'll also take a look at environmental issues and examine
alternate energy sources -- are they a myth or a viable reality?
What do other countries do?
Professor Szabados will provide simple, practical and innovative
tips that will save money and pay a reward to consumers who
want to fuel their home for less and help ensure that Ontario
does not have yet another energy crisis.

Barna Szabados has been a trailblazer
in the field of energy conservation throughout his career.
A professor in the department of electrical and computer
engineering at McMaster since 1980, he garnered the
Best Teacher award for the Faculty of Engineering in
1982.
Professor Szabados holds numerous patents
and in November of 1998, Szabados and three of his colleagues
discovered the process to dim fluorescent light bulbs.
It's estimated that savings in energy from the dimming
device will save billions of dollars and also reduce
pollution dramatically.
