Her research focuses on how the interface can help to build
online trust and can help computer users make better decisions.
Dr. Head studies trust and privacy in electronic commerce,
mobile commerce, usability, Web navigation, relationship-building
in the Web retail marketplace, Web-based agents, online negotiation,
supply chain collaboration, and team performance and satisfaction.
She is the director of the McMaster eBusiness Research Centre
and has been McMaster’s faculty director for the World
Congress on the Management of eBusiness since the inaugural
event was held in 1999, and is director of the eBusiness stream
in the School. She consults with organizations on e-commerce
strategy and implementation issues, Web site engineering and
usability.

can help engender trust, enhance information access and facilitate
the decision-making process. The importance of the interface
should never be underestimated. After all, from the user’s
perspective, the interface is the system.”
