Discover
McMaster
At McMaster we aspire to be
among the best in the world, and we're making it happen right now. Our students
thrive in our culture of innovation and our community of discovery. We are proud of our
traditions, our impact, and our vision for the future.
Learning at McMaster happens in lecture halls, libraries and laboratories, tutorials,
small groups, chat rooms, the Student Centre, basketball games, in clubs and on garden
benches. We believe students learn from one another as well as their professors.
Our learning community is about discovering how to ask the right kinds of questions, how to
be critical thinkers, and how to find unique solutions that can have an impact on the
world around every one of us.
Our professors are here to help. They are among the best in the world and they've all come to McMaster not only to pass on their
knowledge but also to make new discoveries through research. McMaster has been named Canada's Research University of the Year and it's a title we wear with pride.
McMaster has changed significantly over its 118 year history. We have built a modern university on solid traditions. One of our traditions is our beautiful campus located in West Hamilton between the Niagara Escarpment, conservation lands, and the Royal Botanical Gardens. There's a lot of construction happening on campus right now. New classrooms and labs, a $43 million dollar athletics complex and stadium, a new residence, and the developing McMaster Innovation Park are just a few of the new facilities. It's an exciting time to be at McMaster and I encourage you to take a closer look by exploring our web site or coming for a visit.
