Established in 1958, the Faculty of Engineering at McMaster has more than 3,100 undergraduate and 650 graduate students, and 140 faculty members. It features seven departments representing all major engineering disciplines, three graduate engineering schools, and 35 research centres and institutes. Education and research leadership is demonstrated in many crucial areas, including: automotive and manufacturing research, biomedical engineering, information and communications technology, mechatronics and embedded systems, micro- and nano-systems, sustainable energy systems, and environmental engineering.
