McMaster University and Social Media

Social media has become a fact of life in most of our daily routines. Today, there are hundreds of social media sites online.

Participation in social media can allow an organization such as McMaster to better communicate with and receive feedback from its many stakeholders and community members while enabling staff to better tell the University’s many stories.

In order to best harness the power of social media, the Integrated Marketing Group has created a working group to study and recommend best practices for its use by McMaster staff as part of an area’s broader communication strategy. The following are some basic guidelines for official University social media accounts to follow.
