The exhibition, Scrapes: Unruly Embodiments in Video Art, is a centerpiece of the 2010 John Douglas Taylor Conference at McMaster University, Health, Embodiment, and Visual Culture: Engaging Publics and Pedagogies, Nov 18 - 20, 2010.

The exhibition features video art from Canada, Australia, and the U.S. that mobilizes the body as the method of political, social, and cultural investigation. The work of Mohawk artist Shelley Niro and Navajo artist Anna Tsouhlarakis is at the forefront of contemporary Indigenous media culture. Other work includes iconic and internationally renowned video by feminist artist Lisa Steele (winner of the Governor General’s Award for Visual and Media Arts), queer activist media by John Greyson (internationally renowned filmmaker and activist), and a disability film by Australia’s Theatre of Speed, an ensemble of performers with disabilities.
