Administration Proposal to Extend
the Faculty Compensation Agreement (2005-2006) to Librarians

1. TERM AND EFFECTIVE DATE
The agreement will be for a one-year term, June 16, 2005 to June 15, 2006.  All salary increases will be effective June 16, 2005.

2. ACROSS-THE-BOARD INCREASE
An ATB increase for librarians of 3.0% of the June 15, 2005 base salary will be implemented beginning June 16, 2005.

3. SCALE INCREASE
Salary ranges for librarians will be increased by 3.0% effective June 16, 2005 as shown in Attachment I.

4. MERIT POOL
A merit pool consisting of a percentage of MUFA librarian base salaries will be distributed based on an assessment of the performance of position responsibilities and engagement in professional activities. This distribution will occur prior to the implementation of the scale increase, and cannot increase a salary beyond the maximum of the salary range. In accordance with the negotiated agreement, the current cost of the faculty CP/M will be reduced by 0.1 % multiplied by the average number of position promotions over the past five years (2000-2004), which was 1.00 (=0.01).
