What training can I take?

Human Resources

Registration is currently available for the Time Management Entry and Approval for Department Administrators and Managers.  Invitations to this training course were based on the End User Validation process — access was suggested based on MacVIP roles and validated by senior administrators in each area.

An online version of this course will also be available to the same individuals before launch, should this be a more convenient option.

Finance

All online training components (interactive guides and supplementary documents) are available under the ‘Documentation Tab’ within the Mosaic Portal. Note: to obtain basic Portal access, complete the access request form and indicate 'Travel and Expense Claimant Access' in the comments.

Registration for classroom-based learning sessions is available under ‘Finance In-Class Training Registration’ (P-Card Open House, P-Card Reconciliation, Voucher Entry (Non-PO) and Travel/Expense) and ‘Centralized Procurement’ for any member of the McMaster community within the Mosaic Learning Hub.


I'm not familiar with McMaster buildings— where are T-13, TSH, BSB, UH and DTC?  

  • T-13 is located behind the Communications Research Lab and between the Engineering Technology Building and the hospital.
  • TSH is Togo Salmon Hall located directly behind the McMaster University Student Centre and in front of the David Bradley Athletic Centre. 
  • BSB is Burke Science Building located beside Scholar’s Road and John Hodgins Engineering Building (JHE).
    UH is University Hall located in between Hamilton Hall and Gilmour Hall.
  • DTC is the McMaster Downtown Centre, which is located at 50 Main Street East, Hamilton, ON.

 Course participants will receive a reminder email the business day before the class with information that includes a map to assist them on locating their classroom easily.

A map of the campus is also available.

How do I access the MosaicLearning Hub (the training website)?

The Learning Hub is available at: mosaictraining.mcmaster.ca and is only available on the McMaster University network. For off-site learners, attachment to the campus network via VPN is required.

How do I register for in class training?

Navigate in the course to the registration icon.  Click this and the available dates and times (including location) are available.  There is also information on this page to indicate if a date is full or has space available.

Should I take in class or online training for the Time Management course?

It is the learner’s choice.  The same material is covered in both versions of the Time Management course.  N.B. the online version of this course will launch in October.

How do I access training for Finance subject areas?

I need to change the date I've registered for - how do I do this?

Navigate to the registration area in the relevant course.  The date you've registered for will be highlighted in green.  Click 'cancel booking' to cancel your booking – you will receive a confirmation notice of the cancellation.  You may then choose an alternate date for your training.
