Welcome to Mosaic

What is Mosaic?

Mosaic has two intertwined, yet distinct objectives:

  1. Improve the way the university operates (modernize business processes)
  2. Replace the computer systems that are used to operate much of the university with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system

Many of the systems that McMaster currently uses no longer meet the University’s requirements. Many of the business processes that use those systems are also straining to meet the changing needs of McMaster.

Areas

Mosaic will replace the current systems used for:

  • student administration
  • finance
  • research administration
  • human resources
  • business intelligence

Benefits

The improved processes and new system implemented by Mosaic will:

  • Enhance student service
  • Give researchers better tools to manage their research accounts
  • Give staff better tools to do their jobs, in areas such as financial administration, student administration and human resources
  • Deliver better information to guide University planning

Computer Application Inventory

are your apps accounted for

The Mosaic technical team needs your help. They are working to inventory the computer applications at McMaster that might interact with Mosaic or the legacy systems that will be replaced by Mosaic. The technical team has a list of more than 200 applications already identified. They don’t want to miss anything so they’re asking the McMaster community to review it. Read more...

Project Status

Mosaic has just completed a four month Fit-Gap stage. During this stage, workshops were held with McMaster staff and the implementation teams to determine how the PeopleSoft software can meet McMaster's requirements and where there are gaps between the software's standard capabilities and our needs. During the four month Fit-Gap stage there were more than 170 workshops.

The implementation teams are currently reviewing the information they have gathered, developing a plan and beginning the Design and Build Stage.
