MAPS Awards

The McMaster Association of Part-time Students is committed to promoting academic excellence. One way we accomplish this is to recognize outstanding academic performance through the presentations of awards specifically for part-time students.

MAPS also appreciates the tremendous efforts our students put in volunteering of their free time to help others and as such, some of our awards are based on extra-curricular activities such community and school involvement.

The following awards are specifically designated for students who completed 50% or more of their program on a part-time basis:

• The MAPS Gold Medal
• The MAPS Centennial Award for Certificate/Diploma Students
• The MAPS Centennial Award for Degree Students

MAPS also wishes to acknowledge members of the McMaster community who have made outstanding contributions towards the quality of life of our part-time students.

The following award is open to all faculty, instructors, staff, administrators and part-time degree and certificate/diploma students:

• The Martin W. Johns Award

Finally, MAPS wishes to recognize the outstanding contribution certificate and diploma instructors make. Each year, we accept nominations for exceptional and deserving instructors.

The following award is open to all certificate and diploma instructors:

• The MAPS/CCE Teaching Award
