The Ways and Means (WAM) Committee meets biweekly to discuss Council matters. Whether these matters pertain to particular issues brought up during Committee meetings, IRC Events, Council initiatives, or others, the main point of this meeting is to address these concerns without present during Proper due to the formalities of Robert’s Rules of Order. ! Though Proper is where all motions are passed, voting occurs, Committee updates are given, and announcements to the entire Council are made, the less formal setting of WAM allows Representatives and Executive members to ask questions and participate in discussions which ultimately lead to a more thorough understanding of the motion, initiative or problem that is being brought forth at Proper. WAM is always held the week before Information Proper meetings, which also gives time for consultation with residence students and FLIRCs to allow the Council to come to a decision which will be most beneficial for McMaster students.
