It quickly becomes clear that each Residence also has its own team of Floor Level IRC Reps (FLIRCs!). What do they do? FLIRCs gather the opinions of others in their Halls regarding residence life, help plan and advocate awesome upcoming IRC events (as well as those organized by other residence organizations), and also attend any of the various IRC Committee meetings on a regular basis. The Council is structured so that any issues can be presented and resolved at each individual Residenceʼs In-Hall Meeting or one of the various Committee Meetings (Budget, Bylaws, Student Dining, Facilities, Environment, etc.). Should such concerns require the attention of the Inter-Residence Council at large, they are brought to the weekly Council Proper meetings for more extensive discussions and voting to determine the course of action which will be taken by the Council. External partners who can resolve student grievances are either present at the committee meetings themselves, or are in good communication with the Chair of the respective Committee, so issues are always dealt with in a timely and effective manner! So, with Mac pride, campus-wide... IRC always strives to make living on-campus better! Who said the spirit of Welcome Week should be over once school starts?
