Students interested in applying to the Indigenous Studies Combined B.A. Program must have completed of any Level I program, with a Cumulative Average of at least 3.5 including an average of at least 4.0 in six units from CAYUGA 1Z03, INDIG ST 1A03, INDIG ST 1AA3, MOHAWK 1Z03, OJIBWE 1Z03 or a grade of at least C- in one of CAYUGA 1Z06, INDIG ST 1A06, MOHAWK 1Z06 or OJIBWE 1Z06 and satisfaction of admission requirements for the B.A. program in the other subject. Students have the option to combine their studies with another discipline in either the Faculty of Humanities or the Faculty of Social Science.
Entry: Four ways to enter Level 1 Programs at McMaster University:
1. High School
- Apply through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) 101 form – online application is through www.ouac.on.ca
- Grade 12 U/M Requirements – 6 courses in total including: English U (ENG 4U)
- Anticipated cut off range – 75% *actual cut-offs are subject to change. Check yearly for the University Admissions Requirements.
2. Mature Status – Part Time Studies
McMaster will assess your eligibility as a mature student. You may be considered for limited admissions to part time study, provided all of the following conditions are satisfied:
- You are at least 21 years old, or will be, prior to the first day of classes for the session to which you apply.
- You have not attended secondary school for at least two years.
- You have never attended university.
If you qualify under mature status you would apply through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) part time application form – online application is through www.ouac.on.ca . If admitted, you may register as a mature student to take Level 1 courses, one at a time. If after the first six units, you have achieved a grade of B- or higher, you may petition your Faculty to be allowed to take two courses at a time.
3. Admission From Colleges
McMaster welcomes applications from students who have attended a College of Applied Arts and Technology. See the minimum admission requirements for Level 1 programs in the undergraduate calendar. You are considered for admission on an individual basis.

4. Six Nations Polytechnic
McMaster University, along with four other universities, has entered into a partnership with Six Nations Polytechnic to offer university courses in the community of Six Nations. The courses offered are eligible for transfer credit at any of the universities within the consortium.
