Your data show that oligodendroglia lack Mn SOD and iNOs, and you pose the hypothesis that oligodendroglia vulnerability to oxidative stress could result in their demise in certain situations and in demyelinating disorders. This would be especially so, if those cells had high iron content and/or inducible heme oxygenase. Has anyone determined this for oligodendroglial cells?
