This is nice work.  I am struggling however with your statistics.  You state that bath application of melatonin increased current amplitudes in 19 out of 30 cells tested (2893+/-198 pA for melatonin versus 2268+/- 198 pA for control; students t-test p<0.05) with no effects on remaining cells. Can you please explain what the means were? Are they the means of those cells that were deemed to have increased? How many control cells increased? This way of expressing the results was repeated later as well.
