I agree to your idea that Ogg1 might be involved in biological phenomena, such as aging or carcinogenesis through its repair activity. It is well known that male germ cells have a lower spontaneous mutation frequency than somatic tissues in mice. Mice may have higher activity of DNA repair enzymes including the Ogg1 in testes. I would like to know if you have measured Ogg1 activity in testes, as well as the amount of oh8dG in testes DNA.
