These authors address an important issue: the planning of mental health treatment. This is particularly relevant for practitioners in the West, where the concept of managed care has been elevated to the point of dogma. The result here has been that managed care has become mismanaged care. Treatments are selected based on actuarial considerations rather than on the basis of the unique characteristics of the individual clients.

I wonder if the author's might have an example which would illustrate their approach in action.
