Eve Purdy

My name is Eve Purdy and in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program. I was, of course, very excited and thankful [to receive student awards], but I wasn’t just thankful to the donors I was really excited about all the people who have helped me get to that point.

As a recipient of the Ronald Joyce Amazing Grace award, I was absolutely amazed by the generosity of the benefactors. A big part of receiving these scholarships is knowing that as a student you have the ability to be independent. I would want to say thank you to them because it’s a very generous donation but I’d also want to show them what I’ve been doing with the scholarships.

As I move forward, I hope to pursue a career in medicine. From a young age I’ve wanted to be a part of the medical field and coming to university and being in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program has only increased my enthusiasm.

Right now I chose to give back a very small, but heartfelt donation to a scholarship program in my faculty. I hope that as I continue, I’ll be able to support more, but it’s just getting into the habit of giving and I think that’s important for students to think about now.

Thank you very much for your support.
