Running McLink Script on Windows Vista To successfully run the McLink script on Windows Vista, User Access Control must be temporarily disabled. To setup the McLink software an Administrator account is needed. 1) Click the Start Button and select Control Panel.
2) From the Control Panel window, double click on the User Accounts icon.
3) Click on “Turn User Account Control on or off”.
4) Click “Continue” when the User Account Control window pops up.
5) Uncheck the box beside “Use User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure” and then click “OK”.
6) Click “Restart Now”.
7) Upon reboot, User Account Control will have been turned off and the McLink software will install properly. 8) After installing the McLink software, User Account Control needs to be re-enabled as it is one of the main features of Windows Vista’s security package. This can be done by repeating the steps above and checking the box beside “Use User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure” in Step 5.
