Turning off Secure Password Authentication (SASL) in Outlook 2000
Secure Password Authentication is turned off by default. If turned on and you are unable to connect to MUSS or UnivMail, follow the steps below to disable Secure Password Authentication.
Open Outlook.
Click on Tools on the menu bar and select Accounts.
Click on the Mail tab. Select MUSS or UnivMail and click on Properties.
Click on the Server tab. Uncheck Log on using Secure Password Authentication.
Click on OK and click on Close.
Close Outlook.
