Setting up Outlook 2003 to store sent messages on UnivMail

 This is possible when using Outlook with an IMAP configuration. 

Open Outlook and click Tools in the Menubar.

Select Rules and Alerts.

Click on the E-mail Rules tab.

Click on New Rule.

Select Start from a blank rule. Under Step1.select Check messages after sending. Click on Next.

 

Select conditions(s) on this machine only and click on Next.

 

Select Move a copy to the specified folder.

Under step 2 click on specified folder. Choose Sent Items under UnivMail and click OK.

If you need to create the folder click on New and create it.

Click on Next.

Click on Next again.

 Make sure Turn on this rule is checked.

Click on Finish.

Click on Ok.

 

Note: Outlook considers the Sent items on the local computer to be special. To avoid leaving a copy of the sent messages on the local computer, modify your E-mail options.

 

Click Tools on the Menu Bar.

Select Options.

Select the Preferences tab.

Click on E-mail Options.

Uncheck Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder.

Click on Ok.

Click on Ok.
