Oracle / Internet Explorer 6 Workaround

A recent update to Window 2000, XP and 2003 has caused Internet Explorer 6 to not function with Oracle - Corporate Information Systems

For a workaround use the following steps;

Go to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp

Download JRE 5.0 Update 6

The following Security Popup will appear; Click YES

You will be forwarded to the download Page.

click on the Accept button

You will redirected and prompted with the following pop up

Click YES

Next click on the following to Download,

You will be prompted to install/ run the application

Click RUN

Click RUN

Click Finish

Do the following configuration changes to Internet Explorer 6

Open Internet Explorer 6

Go to Tools, Internet Options

Go to the Advanced Tab

Scroll down to Sun Java

Click On Use JRE 1.50_06

Click Apply and OK.

Close out Internet Explorer 6

Accessing Oracle through Internet Explorer

Open up Internet Explorer 6

Go to the Oracle / Corporate Information Systems Page http://admoraweb.mcmaster.ca/dataserv-htm/appsmenu.htm

Click on MENU of Oracle Applications

You will be prompted for with a Security warning

Click on the Always trust content from this publisher,

then click RUN

your Oracle login Applet should appear for login.
