Connecting to a network printer on MAC OSX

 

On the Desktop click Finder in the Menu Bar or Apple icon in the top left corner.

Select System Preferences and then Print & Fax.

Check that the active tab is Printing.

Click on the + sign.

Click on IP Printer.

Under Protocol select HP Jet Direct-Socket if connecting to an HP printer.
Note: the system will verify the IP Address entered and populate the name field if valid.

Change the Name field to something more meaningful like HP LaserJet ...

Leave the Queue field blank.

Click on Print Using and select the printer model/driver. Click on Add and then Continue.

Click on the Red button and Save.
