How to check the MAC / Physical address of a network card

Go to the Command Prompt by clicking on Start | Programs | Accessories | Command Prompt

If your operating system is Windows 2000 or Windows XP type ipconfig /all at the DOS / Command Prompt and it will display your MAC Address (Physical address), IP Address and all the TCP/IP configuration for the network card. Type winipcfg /all for Windows 98 computers.

The hardware address will consist of 12 hexadecimal digits. These digits are numbers and/or letters A-F, usually displayed in the following format: 0F-B0-D7-C9-2E-77 (example)
