New to McMaster in January 2013, Sustainable Future Program aims to build reciprocal relationships between students, community members, and McMaster University, and engage all parties in the journey towards a sustainable future.
Founded in 2012, the first major initiative of the program is the development of the Undergraduate Course: SUSTAIN 2A03: The Sustainable Future Project, which aims to create more knowledgeable and more effective change agents.
In the quest to build relationships and develop the Sustainable Future Project, we are looking for enthusiastic community members, McMaster staff and organizations who would like to contribute to, and benefit from, students learning at McMaster. Learn more about ways to get involved!
The McMaster Teaching & Community Garden (MTCG) is a University sustainability initiative with the objective of facilitating local food production while providing teaching and learning opportunities, and engaging the McMaster and greater Hamilton community.
Join us on September 20th between 11:30 am and 3:00 pm at the front lawn of GSB for the inaugural Garden Festival event. President and Vice-Chancellor Patrick Dean will be speaking at 12:00 pm followed by refreshments, live musical performances, and displays by local artists.
McMaster won the 2012 Clean Air Commute Challenge with 12% participation rate. Andrew Pettit, Sports League & Camps Coordinator, won this year's Clean Air Commute Spirit Award for his enthusiasm in promoting clean air commuting and for engaging members of the Athletics & Recreation team to take part as well by choosing sustainable modes of travel.
