Bursaries for MAPS students
These bursaries assist students in diploma or certificate programs who would otherwise be unable to continue their studies without such financial aid. Consideration is also given to students who cannot enroll at the University without some financial assistance.
Interested students should submit an application consisting of a Bursary Application form with a modified budget and a covering letter by: April 15 for courses beginning in May; August 15 for courses beginning in the fall; and November 30 for courses beginning in the winter.

Bursaries/Loans
Some students may be eligible for financial assistance under the Ontario Special Bursary Program. Typically assistance is available for Addictions (correspondence and evening lecture format only) students. Other CCE programs may soon be eligible for this program – approval is pending.

Go Transit Discounts
GO Transit offers discounted rates for travel to CCE students. In order to qualify, CCE students must be enrolled in at least 9 units of academic credit per semester.
To obtain an application form or to get it approved by CCE, please email the Centre for Continuing Education or call 905.525.9140 x24321 for more details.

Grade Reports
Official Grade Reports are mailed from the Registrar's Office approximately 4-6 weeks after the last day of class.
Students may also check MUGSI to view their grades.

MAPS (McMaster Association of Part-Time Students)
MAPS exists to look after the special interests of all part-time degree and certificate students who pay our fees and who have a different educational experience than full-time students. MAPS represents students by having a voice on various academic and administrative committees, lobbying for services and accessibility, providing bursaries and awards and other services. Tuition fees include an assessment (Supplementary Fee) to support the Association.
MAPS represents students taking Certificate and Diploma programs by:

Having a voice on various academic and administrative committees;

Publishing a newsletter - The LINK;

Keeping students informed of current issues;

Providing a handbook that guides students through the university maze;

Offering free seminars, such as Essay Writing, Preparing for Exams & Developing Research Skills;

Lobbying for services and accessibility;

Providing bursaries and awards;

Offering a "Getting Ready for University Workshop" in August. For more info or to RSVP, contact MAPS.
MAPS also offers an annual Centennial Award for Certificate/Diploma students. The purpose of this award is to recognize the outstanding efforts of part-time students who undertake many roles in addition to the academic. The recipient will have overcome particularly adverse circumstances in order to attend university or have demonstrated outstanding achievement or commitment in activities distinct from their university studies. The value of the award is $500 and a plaque. Applications can be obtained from the MAPS office. Deadline for applications is August 15.

MUGSI (McMaster University General Student Information)
MUGSI allows students to view their grade reports, financial information and contact information.
In order to access MUGSI, you must have a student number and a valid 4-digit pin number. To set your pin, go to MUGSI and click on Set/Reset MUGSI Pin.

Student Numbers/Cards
Students who have previously taken certificate, diploma or degree credit courses at McMaster will have been assigned a student number. This number should be recorded on the registration form. New students will be assigned a number that should subsequently be recorded on all registrations. New students can expect to receive a student card and student number within six weeks after the first course registration.

Transcripts
Transcript requests must be made to the Office of the Registrar. You can request transcripts either by fax (905-527-1105), by mail to the Office of the Registrar or in person. Your request MUST contain the following: your FULL name; student number; current mailing address; date of birth; number of copies required; exact mailing address of where you wish your transcripts to be sent, if different from your home address and your signature.
