Students are responsible for familiarizing themselves with CCE Policies and Procedures.
Policies, procedures and guidelines are added, deleted and amended on an ongoing basis. If there is a discrepancy between the electronic policy and the written copy held by the CCE, the written copy prevails.

Advanced Credit Towards Degree StudiesMcMaster University Senate has approved the principle of granting credit toward degree studies for graduates of the certificate/diploma programs offered by CCE. See individual certificate/diploma programs for details. Any advanced credit for certificate/diploma courses within degree studies is possible only after successful completion of the entire certificate/diploma program. Call (905) 525-4600 for further information about applying your certificate/diploma towards a degree and review the current McMaster University undergraduate calendar. Course CancellationsCCE reserves the right to cancel courses due to insufficient registration or other unavoidable factors. You will be advised and a full refund issued. In the event that a course is cancelled, you will be notified by telephone. CCE Course FeesIn addition to the published tuition costs, the following fees are also applicable for certificate and diploma courses.
MAPS Fee: $7 per unit. Please note that this fee is already included in the published tuition fees.
McMaster Employees: The tuition assistance benefit does not cover the supplementary fees (i.e. MAPS fee) or the fees noted above. Payment for these fees must accompany your course registration form. In addition to submitting a course registration form to CCE, you must submit a separate Tuition Assistance Form to HR (visit Working@McMaster for more details). Harmonized Sales TaxSome courses and workshops are subject to HST. Where tax is applicable, it has been indicated to add HST to the tuition amount McMaster University Grading Scale
Inclement WeatherCCE is closed if McMaster is closed. Please note the changes in the Inclement Weather Policy. 1. McMaster University decides when the University is closed. Closures are no longer linked to closures at the Hamilton Board of Education. 2. There is the capacity for McMaster University to close for only a partial day. Examinations that are scheduled on the day or the evening of a closing because of bad weather will be cancelled and rescheduled. Deadlines for assignments and other requirements are postponed to the next class session. This information will also be communicated via the University’s Daily News Website. Late Registration Fees1. Registrations received after the 3rd class but before the mid-term will be assessed a late fee of $60.00, unless prior arrangements have been made with CCE. 2. Students who have not registered by the mid-term will not be admitted to class. Receipts/ConfirmationsConfirmation of certificate or diploma registration will be mailed to all course registrants. It is recommended that you register at least two weeks prior to the start date of a course in order to ensure you receive your letter prior to the first class. The confirmation letters will list course name, date, hours and location. Any inquiries regarding official receipts for payments should be directed to Financial Services (905) 525-9140, ext, 24478. T2202A Income Tax Certificates will be available on MUGSI at the end of February. Under the provisions of the Income Tax Act, a student may claim allowance for tuition fees paid for certificate and diploma courses. Confirmation of professional/personal development seminar and course registration will be issued via email to all students upon registration. If the Centre is unable to process confirmations prior to the course start date, registrants will be notified by telephone. Under the provisions of the Income Tax Act, there is no allowance for tuition fees paid for professional/personal development seminars or courses. Transfer of Credit (Other Institutions or McMaster faculties)Students may apply for Transfer of Credit through the Program Manager for the program in which they are enrolled. To be eligible students need to be currently enrolled in a CCE program and submit a cover letter that maps out what you have completed, where and what course you would like the credit applied towards (i.e. Marketing 123 completed at University of Toronto, in place of 570-819 Marketing), an official transcript with marks and a copy of the course outline or course description. Course content has to be at least 80% comparable to our CCE course. Please note that only courses in which a minimum grade of C- has been achieved may be considered for a transfer of credit. Also, courses completed longer than 5 years at time of application may not be considered. There is a fee of $79 for each TOC (once approved by the Program Manager). The price is subject to change. Your McMaster transcript will show the actual details of the TOC. Students will receive a letter from CCE confirming the TOC has been granted which the students should keep for their own personal records. TOC is not viewable for the students on MUGSI. Tuition Assistance for Eligible McMaster EmployeesMcMaster employees may be eligible for tuition assistance for some programs. Supplementary fees are the responsibility of the student and must be paid at time of registration. Eligible students must complete a Tuition Assistance Form and forward it to the HR Department for processing Academic IntegrityIt is the responsibility of students to familiarize themselves McMaster University’s policy on academic integrity. The Academic Integrity Policy is available for review in the University Secretariat or online at http://www.mcmaster.ca/policy/Students-AcademicStudies/AcademicIntegrity.pdf. Students are required to adhere to the policy. Breaches of the policy, whether through neglect or intentional, are subject to penalties ranging from a failing grade to expulsion.
