How long will it take to complete the program?

  • Students may complete the certificate in one full year. This requires taking two courses during the fall and winter terms.
  • Students may complete the diploma in approximately one and a half year.
  • These are only estimates. Individuals should gauge other time commitments to determine a realistic completion target.

How do I decide between the certificate stream and the diploma stream?

  • The diploma stream is recommended for those pursuing a career in Web Design and Development.
  • The certificate is appropriate for individuals who want to complement existing skills or if some web-related job duties are required.
  • Do I have to complete the entire certificate or diploma?
  • No, there is no formal admission process. Students may take select courses that fulfill their individual interests and needs.

How heavy is the course workload?

  • Homework is an expectation in all courses. Readings and/or assignments are typically assigned on a weekly basis. Lab time is provided in addition to "in-class" time for students to work on assignments.
  • How many courses should I take in one term?
  • This is an individual decision based on other time commitments such as home life and work.
  • Some students enroll in one class per term, some enroll in two classes per term.
  • Regardless of a student’s coursework load, the program is defined as a part-time program of study.
