What do Project Managers do?
Project managers plan and oversee the execution of projects that have a finite timeline and specific goals. Project managers implement projects such as launching a new software application, overseeing the construction of a new facility, or planning a major event.
Managing a project requires defining the project's scope and objectives, developing a project plan, identifying tasks, resources and timelines, and reporting on the status of the project. Most projects involve a specific set of major phases or stages (with various titles for these), including feasibility, definition, project planning, implementation, evaluation and support/maintenance.
Effective project managers are typically highly organized and have well developed communication skills.
