Project sessions are sequentially grouped to show the order in which they may be taken. More experienced participants may opt to skip introductory sessions and focus on a particular workshop topic. Participants who are new users of a particular software application should always begin with the introductory session and progress through the sequenced workshops.
Microsoft Project 2010 Level 1/Beginner CCE-606
Still struggling to manage projects with pen & paper? This course is the first in a series of two workshops designed for individuals who will use Microsoft Office Project 2010 as a tool to assist them in managing projects. The topics in this course cover the critical skills necessary to create and modify a project plan file that contains tasks, resources, and resource assignments. MS Project was designed specifically to make timelines, charts, resource schedules, cost tables--all the information you need to plan, implement, control and report projects. Participants should possess some knowledge of project management terminology and principles.
Microsoft Project 2010 Level 2/Intermediate CCE-607
Level 2 is the second workshop in the Microsoft Project 2010 series. In Microsoft Project 2010: Level 1, participants created a complete project plan. This course will build upon that knowledge, and give individuals the opportunity to work with a project plan once it has entered the project implementation phase. Students will learn to use Microsoft Project to accomplish the tracking and reporting needed once a project is underway. Web pages, hyperlinks, custom reports and data export and import will enable students to track and keep the project team informed for single projects and for master project plans (for multiple projects.)
Workshop Prerequisites: Participants should be proficient in using a keyboard and a mouse, and should possess familiarity with a Windows operating system (e.g. folders, files, opening and saving documents, etc.).
The Centre for Continuing Education's computer labs utilize Windows 7 operating system.
