Access sessions are sequentially grouped to show the order in which they may be taken.  More experienced participants may opt to skip introductory sessions and focus on a particular workshop topic. Participants who are new users of a particular software application should always begin with the introductory session and progress through the sequenced workshops.

Access 2010: I Introduction CCE-577

The first of these four half-day workshops will build the groundwork of creating a database in Access. You will learn the fundamentals of building Tables, setting Data Types, and establishing the Relationship between these tables.

Access 2010 II Data Manipulation CCE-578

In the second of four workshops, students will look at editing existing tables and setting field properties to help maintain accurate data input. Field Property settings let you create Input Masks, set Default Values, setup Validation Rules, and customize Date & Time formats. Students will learn how to find, sort, and filter data in a table and to print that data.

Access 2010 III Database Queries CCE-579

In workshop three of four, students are introduced to the Query menu. Learn how to create Queries through the Query Wizard and Design View, modify query results, and add criteria to the Query. Students will also learn how to create a Calculated Field, design a Parameter Query, use Concatenation to join fields, and how to use the Update Query feature within a query.

Access 2010 IV Forms and Reports CCE-580

In the final workshop of the Access series, users will see how the three previous components come together by creating basic forms and reports. We will look at the use of the Form Wizard and Report Wizard to cut down on hours of design work. Learn how to manipulate objects within the form's design view, and how to create forms with sub-forms. Also learn how to manipulate objects within the report's design view and how to add new objects into your form or report.
