Does your organization require training in a particular area of addictions?  Do you have specific needs or skills that you would like to have developed in a workshop setting?

The Centre for Continuing Education provides customized training workshops for professionals who work with addiction issues.  We work with the client to customize the content around the needs and skill-set of the participants.  A full needs assessment is conducted with the participants prior to the development of the material.

Workshops can be developed around virtually any topic in addiction studies and can be delivered anywhere in Canada.  Some topics include:

• concurrent disorders
• assessment of addictive behaviour
• group dynamics and group facilitation
• solution focused brief therapy
• problem management skills
• professional ethics and ethical reasoning
• pharmacology
• problem gambling
• working with families
• anger as an addiction
• trauma and addiction

Upon request and payment of the fee, workshops will be submitted for pre-approved core continuing education hours by the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF).
