This program can be completed entirely online.

Academic Credit – 18 Units

  • open to individuals with post-secondary education who have completed foundation/core-level accounting courses
  • to qualify for the Certificate, students must complete any six specialist courses
  • students pursuing an external designation may take any number of basic courses to satisfy external program requirements

Note: Graduates of the Diploma in Accounting are not eligible for the Certificate in Advanced Accounting.

* New students are encouraged to contact the Centre for Continuing Education for academic counselling and a program study plan. Finance and accounting courses are offered at our Hamilton campus and online.

Specialist Courses (Complete any 6)

III. Basic Elective Courses

The McMaster Certificate in Advanced Accounting prepares aspiring accountants or other finance professionals for an accounting career in Canada or a Canadian accounting designation such as a CGA or CMA*. This program is offered in-class and online.
