The 2011 Ontario Government Labour Market Report posts good prospects for adults with a post secondary diploma in accounting such as McMaster’s. There is a high demand for accountants in public service and these demands are increasing as government takes measures to improve the financial control framework. Replacement needs within the industry will create a substantial number of new accounting positions each year. McMaster is one of several schools working to meet this need. The demand for accountants and auditors will be sustained because of complex government regulations and tax laws. Full time positions hired to perform routine accounting-related services will continue.
In a recent survey, 90% of our graduates who responded told us that they believed that their job performance improved as a result of what they learned in the McMaster Accounting Diploma program.
Many accounting courses offered by the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) satisfy program requirements of the Certified General Accountants Association of Ontario (CGA) and CMA Ontario, Certified Management Accountants. The designations issued by these professional associations can further enhance your career potential.
