Education is not ‘one-size-fits-all.’ At McMaster, we understand that your needs are unique and continually changing. That’s why we designed our university-level academic and professional development programs to accommodate the diverse schedules, backgrounds and learning styles of continuing education students. And it is precisely this commitment to flexibility and quality that recently earned us another Reader’s Choice Award for Best Adult Education Provider in the Hamilton Spectator.

An unprecedented number of new programs were introduced by the Centre for Continuing Education over the past year, many of which were met with an overwhelming response, including several that sold out quickly.

The following are the most recent introductions to our extensive line-up. The first is a Certificate in Advanced Accounting built for individuals who require advanced-level courses towards their CGA or CMA designations.

The second is our new Risk Management Program. People who complete this program will receive a certificate of Completion from McMaster and be prepared to earn their Canadian Risk Management designation from the Global Risk Management Institute.

The third is a substantial change to our 50+ year old Certificate in the Metallurgy of Iron & Steel. Beginning this term, students will be able to earn their Certificate online. As the only comprehensive certificate in Metallurgy in the country, McMaster’s program has been considered the gold standard in the field for decades. In this convenient online format, our highly-regarded program is now more accessible than ever.

Lastly, we are particularly excited about the launch of our new Web Analytics Program. As websites, social media and digital marketing efforts become more sophisticated, many organizations struggle to understand how customers interact with their digital assets. Without at least a working knowledge of how to measure and interpret this information, it can be very challenging to make informed marketing decisions and create better online experiences. Our interactive online program equips marketers, web designers, managers and analysts with the crucial skills that they need to effectively use web analytics systems for business and marketing purposes.

In addition to educational credentials, we realize that professional accreditations are also a career necessity. McMaster’s programs are developed with this in mind and thus we’ve ensured that our courses are recognized by the relevant professional associations.
