Upgrade of Web Server Underway

AS OF FRIDAY, JUNE 6, 2003 at 12:45PM, WEB DIRECTORY ACCESS HAS BEEN DISABLED TO ALLOW FOR THE UPGRADE OF THE WEBSERVER.

As a result of the University's initiative to utilize a content management system, many of the web sites on campus will be able to benefit from new hardware technology.

Websites currently hosted on the main McMaster University webserver (http://www.mcmaster.ca) will be migrated to a new improved webserver.

As part of this upgrade, there will be a minor change to how users access their webpages to update their websites. Users will no longer require utilities giving them sFTP access, as they will be able to map a network drive directly to their web directory.
