The Inquiry in Higher Education Research Project is dedicated to improving learning in higher education through research into the effectiveness of inquiry pedagogy and how students learn how to learn.
Working toward an evidence-based understanding of inquiry pedagogy in higher education, our team has been conducting research and synthesizing assessment data related to the long term effectiveness of inquiry at producing inquirers with sets of relevant academic and intellectual skills and enhancing subject matter learning.
This project exists through the generous funding of the McConnell
Family Foundation which provided a multi-year grant to promote the
introduction of inquiry pedagogy into year one at McMaster and to study
the effects of this change on students, faculty and the institution. |
