The following is a general listing of materials that require a permit to be issued prior to importation:
The University holds a blanket permit, from Agriculture Canada, which allows importation of certain materials of animals or microbial origin from suppliers within the Continental U.S.A.
The Customs & Traffic Unit should be contacted prior to ordering material that is not included in the blanket permit in order that an application may be made, where required, for single entry permits.
Failure to have proper authorisation prior to import may result in the seizure and confiscation of materials by Agriculture Canada.
All importations of live animals must be purchased through the Central Animal Facility located in the Health Sciences Centre - 1U50, Extension 22366.
