To ensure that goods are delivered in an economical and timely manner consistent with the needs of the University.
This policy applies to all shipments.
Customs & Traffic will assist induviduals in determining the best mode of transport.
The following are some of the factors to be considered when determining the best suited method of shipping:
value -- can the carrier provide the necessary liability coverage?
cost -- is the cost of transport reasonable in comparison to the value of the goods?
time -- is the order urgently required?
weight -- is the weight within the carrier's limitations?
method of payment -- are the goods to be shipped "prepaid" or "collect"? Some carriers have restrictions according to the destination.
Note:
Cash on Delivery (COD) shipments are NOT accepted by the University
