Purchasing Policy P-160, "Disposal of University Surplus Assets",
(see note 5 under "Procedures") that surplus University assets "will be
made available for sale/utilisation" to other University departments
before being offerred to employees or outside organizations. However,
from time-to-time, there will be suplus assets that have outgrown our
needs or are simply too obsolete that there is no real utilization for
them on campus. To that end, we have had discussions with the folks at
Amity/Goodwill Industries about such scenarios. They would be happy to
contacted to arrive on campus to pick up the item(s).
If there is such a situation, please contact me (see note 6 under
"Procedures") in order that an assessment may be made on the asset.
Should a decision be made to not advertise the assest(s) for sale, we
now have an outlet that we can use for the disposal. You are now able
contact Michael Kuzyk of Amity/Goodwill Industries (see info below) and
arrange to have them arrive on campus to remove the item(s). While they
will almost consider anything, the folks at Amity/Goodwill are
interested in obsolete pc's, keyboards, cpu's and furniture.
