Mail Services
Welcome to the Mail Services web site. Mail Services operates in support of the University's objective to achieve excellence in education and research by providing delivery, collection and processing services of all University mail. Mail Services also provides addressing and folding and inserting services. We are committed to ensuring that the University's written communications move efficiently to their destination.
LOCATION
McMaster University Mail Services is located in the DeGroote School of Business Building (DSB), room B109.
HOURS OF OPERATION
7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The wicket is open to the campus community from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.
INCOMING MAIL
Mail Services processes all incoming mail from the Canada Post Corporation. Mail is delivered daily to each department commencing at 9:30 a.m..
To ensure timely delivery, all items must have the following information:
ADDRESSEE'S NAME
DEPARTMENT NAME
BUILDING NAME AND ROOM NUMBER

sorted, before pickup, as follows:

All outgoing mail is charged to the departmental account on return address unless otherwise noted.

COURIERS:
Mail Services acts as an on-campus drop off point for specified courier pickups. Please call extension 24286 for further information.
Fedex and Purolator - deliver & pick-up daily.
CANPAR, UPS, DHL pick-up must be arranged by department.

ADDRESSING, FOLDING AND INSERTING:
Mail Services provides an addressing service for general mailings to the
McMaster community. Labelling equipment will affix labels to envelopes,
magazines and flyers for any on- or off- campus mailing. Mailing lists
can be set up using data bases in Mail Services. A folding service is also
available as part of the Addressing operation. The University inserting
equipment will insert up to 4 items into envelopes. Maximum size up to #4 bboklet; minimum #9 envelope. For more information call extension 24387 or e-mail mailadd@mcmaster.ca.
UNIVERSITY POSTAL CODES
Canada Post Corporation's new requirement for addressing is that all addresses
be in capital letters without punctuation (unless it
is part of a word in the address e.g.SMITH'S BICYCLES).
The postal code should be placed on the same line as
the city and province e.g. HAMILTON ON L8S 4K1 Look
