A requirement of the Customer Service Standard is that McMaster train all employees (faculty and staff) in addition to student leaders and volunteers. A summary of the training content is provided below.

Lesson 2 - Communicating & Interacting with Customers with Disabilities

  • Understanding who are your customers
  • Understanding different kinds of disabilities
  • What you need to consider when interacting and communicating with persons with disabilities, and
  • Scenarios to assist you in the classroom, the office and campus facilities when interacting with customers

Lesson 3 - Serving Customers with Disabilities

  • Customers with service animals
  • Customers with support persons
  • Customers using personal assistive devices
